Dear Readers,
Welcome
again and thanks for waiting for me! I have been so0000 busy and I am
not exaggerating (for anyone who thinks I exaggerate.) I am glad I have
a little time to catch up with all of you - my faithful readers.
"So
whose big idea was it?" I ask, to kill off over 30 coyotes back in '08
here in my township? I guess some people are a bit unnerved by the site
of large scraggly, German shepherd like 4 legged creatures lurking
across their property. Haunting cries and howls in the night just might
be enough for some to make a call to the township I guess. But did
anyone foresee that this would change many of us into chipmunk
haters?!!!
Now don't get me wrong. I am not a hater by
nature. And I am really trying not to detest Chip and Dale. But don't
be fooled by their cute little faces, or their entertaining antics.
Just witness their brazen attempts to win us over. Chipmunk entertainment
The chipmunk bomb exploded and they have made holes everywhere
including my garden and my house!! They dance across my patio just to
remind me of their presence. (They know how to get to me.)
Anyone
else have this problem? I know you do because I see chipmunks
scampering across roads all over town where they would have never
ventured in years past. Don't think they don't enjoy a good game of
chicken every now and then. I always vow that the next time a rabbit
or chipmunk dares to run out in front of me that I will plow right on
through but no, at the last minute I find myself swerving to save "the
poor thing's" life.
Speaking of rabbits, and don't anyone call
them bunnies, they are everywhere too and they like all the stuff I
grow. I hear coyotes love rabbits. Here little coyote, come here. Come
to Superior, we need you.
I have no personal stake in this but I
just researched chipmunk control and I was all prepared to tell you how
to do it. My neighbor told me how he traps them in a Have-A-Heart
trap. Their advice is to go dump them off in a woods five miles away.
Hey wait I live next to a woods! No one better be dumping their
Have-A-Heart survivors in my woods!! So when I asked my neighbor what
he does with them he calmly replied, "Oh, I empty them out of the trap
right into a five gallon bucket of water ."
"Oh." I replied soberly.
So I'll make it easy for you and for me. Just click here and see what you think.
Chip and Dale meet their destiny

MICHIGAN (and everyone else) GARDENING
Thanks
to those at Michigan State University, a website full of helpful
information for all gardeners with specifics for us here in Michigan.
Got insect issues? Need to know how to grow a certain crop? Check this
out. This is one great site.
And oh, beware of the rather risque
article entitled "Mushroom Relative Looks Like Garden Prank". I'm
warning you but it is so hilarious.

Thanks again for letting me share your time.
And
thanks to all of you who have invited us into your yards and gardens
this year. You have kept us hopping that is for sure!!It is a joy and a
pleasure to work with you all. Welcome to all who are new to us too!
Next time I think I will talk about weeds, another subject we all hate,
kind of like chipmunks but maybe worse. With all the rain we've had and
seem to continue to get (it's raining today) I think I better talk
about them. Til then...
Call now and let us help make your landscape a beautiful, rejuvenating oasis.
