Hi
again everyone! Last month I wrote about adopting a gracious acceptance
and even embrace of winter. Yes, I even amazed myself! And it is true, I
didn't mind all the snow and the cold. But with temperatures plummeting
to the teens these past few nights and on through the week, I feel the
need to apologize to you here in Michigan. Could it be that maybe my
trumpeting winter's praise got back to Old Man Winter and he liked my
kind, heart felt words so much that now he can't bear to let me go?!!!
Because ever since that one day in February when we didn't have to wear coats, we have not experienced another like it.
Yes,
I was wise in not succumbing to spring fever that day. But the buds are
swelling on every tree and shrub and bulbs have pushed through their
frozen blanket getting ready to hearten us again with their beauty. I
know it's coming and I joyfully anticipate its arrival! They say all
good things are worth waiting for and I agree. In the meantime, enjoy
these coming attractions.

Anyone know the yellow flowering tree brave enough to take one winter?
It's a Hamamelis vernalis 'Arnold Promise' commonly know as Witchhazel.
