QUICK LINKS

Hi again everyone. Sitting in front of my computer, I am enjoying the remnant of Hurricane Ike as it provides a steady and most welcomed rainfall to us here in Michigan. Summer was extraordinarily dry once July hit and August was worse. I can almost hear the earth gulp as it receives this most needed precipitation. I like the way it sounds outside my window and I am happy thinking that my hose pulling and sprinkler setting days are over for awhile. I spent so much time watering my acres of precious plants that I had to come up with something good about pulling a hose around. So I convinced myself that some muscle somewhere had to go into action thereby providing something of a passive workout. Don't mock me for trying to be positive. It kept me from complaining as I whiled away hours at this task so easily accomplished when the clouds do it for you.
BULBS * FALL CLEAN-UP * DEER

Read on and find out what these have in common. Okay, I'll tell you, they are all part of this month's GARDENING GRACES NEWSLETTER.
BULBS AND FALL CLEAN-UP
    Flowers
You know how you want your yard to have something like this growing in it next spring? Well, now is the time to do something about that desire of yours. Call GARDENING GRACES today so we can plan your bulb displays for next spring. Now is the time. There is none to waste.

TulipsThis is too pretty to let it go for another year. Color selection and bulb options offer a plentiful and diverse array of
potential for beauty.

And Don't Forget Fall
Clean-Up
Fall in Michigan is beautiful and full of many of its own unique delights but I almost choke mentioning "Fall Clean-Up" because it means summer is almost over and I love summer. But bring it up I must. It comes upon us even if we whine about loving summer. So call now to get yourself onto the fall schedule for garden clean-up and winterization. Yikes!!!!! I said winter. (Pretend I didn't.)

Well look at this......

Water Melon

Here is proof of the effectiveness of the ScareCrow.  Last year my garden produce photo would have included a few peppers, some deer bitten potatoes and maybe a zucchini or two. A few weeks ago, I picked tomatoes, broccoli, potatoes, watermelon, cantalope, onions, peppers, zucchini and every deer's favorite garden food, beets, all in a matter of minutes.
    Regular readers
will recall from the last newsletter that I told you about a product called ScareCrow. The ScareCrow is a battery powered motion detector that you hook up to your hose. It provides 35' of coverage and anytime a deer comes in range it gets shot by a sharp burst of water and startled by the accompanying noise too.
The ScareCrow worked for me and is suited to protect any outdoor planting or pond from deer, small animals, both wild and domestic, and birds. My dog, Jake, taunts the ScareCrow by running around the perimeter of the garden thereby setting it off. But I guess you could say it's a draw because it does keep him out of the garden. I even read of a man who uses the ScareCrow to keep gangs from tagging his buildings. And it works! They've been graffiti free since he started using them.
I recommend it and cannot say enough about how it rescued me from another devastated vegetable garden experience. If anyone is interested in purchasing one, I am offering them at a discount from what you would pay from the manufacturer. I paid full price before I even knew it was a proven commodity. (Yes, I was desperate.) Now you have the proof and can purchase one at a discounted price through GARDENING GRACES. And it comes with a 2 year warranty and great customer service!!

Price through November 1st, 2008 is $65 plus shipping and tax. That's a $24 savings from the manufacturer's price! So call or email now to order your ScareCrow.  I love this thing!!
